Body composition is the proportion of fat, muscle, and bone of an individual's body, usually expressed as a percentage of body fat and a percentage of lean body mass. 

InBody uses direct segmental measurement bioelectrical impedance analysis (DMS-BIA), a patented technology. The non-painful electrical currents measure impedance in the trunk and limbs. 

The InBody captures fluctuations in body water distribution that can occur resulting from diet and exercise. It is recommended to take the test earlier in the day and morning. For repeat tests, it is recommended to keep the time of day similar for the most accurate comparisons. 

There is no harm in doing the test more frequently, but as the body's overall composition will have fluctuations day to day, it is recommended to do the test every 2 to 4 weeks. Doing the test once a month is a nice way to see progress, without getting discouraged with the smaller changes. 

The InBody scale measurement is included with all of our client consultations, but if you would like to just do the testing without a full consultation, we offer the test by itself for $25. 

We use the data to personalize your treatment plan specific to your goals and desired outcomes. It is used as a data measurement tracking to reflect changes and improvements over time.
